            Abstract

This paper introduces an integrated framework comprising emerging technologies to provide easy-to-use, effective, and smart transit services for visually impaired people (VIP). This framework uses IoT, IoD, GPS, crowdsensing, audio and video recording for collecting data about VIPs, and a central cloud server to process those data for a quick response to the request of VIP. A mobile application is used by VIPs to coordinate different components of this framework. Most existing mobile applications [1 – 31] provide very basic information to VIPs using Google location services and do not include these technologies. Moreover, most of these existing applications use artificial intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) algorithms for data processing, analysis, and decision-making. The proposed framework uses AI and ML-based algorithms that make the framework more efficient in terms of faster decision-making and response to VIPs.
