A sufficient level of awareness among members belonging to different spheres of society and practicable policies, and a proper roadmap to advance towards a sustainable future is a prerequisite when it comes to addressing diverse sustainability challenges while at the same time satiating the growing demands of the Indian population. This has become all the more significant in the light of socio-environmental and economic issues burgeoning daily. This calls for immediate and adequate efforts from our side to alleviate the situation by assessing the current status of the domain of Sustainability in India and recognizing the areas requiring greater focus. This paper gives a comprehensive insight into a survey-based analysis of the state of sustainability science in India. It explores the various aspects of the same by gauging the general attitude, and opinions on collaboration, funding and several other pertinent factors. The paper provides workable recommendations for action and outlines clearly the background and structure of the survey along with key findings, which can all provide functional and applicative insights to enhance the impact of sustainability.
